The "Nest" prop - Campbell River Photographer - Newborn

April 13, 2016  •  Leave a Comment

During your pre-shoot consultation we will discuss many things; among them we will talk about newborn photo props.  Every newborn session has at least two components.  Beanbag poses and a minimum of one prop.  Some sessions may include features with family or additional props, but for now I want to focus on the different types of props and the poses that come with them.

Over the years I have collected many custom and unique props, and in some cases I have even made some specifically for use with newborns during a photo shoot.

Today I will focus on the "Nest" prop.

This prop/set-up is very similar to the bowl prop, with the exception of it being a very shallow "nest" or a circular "nest" created using blankets etc. on the floor (Sometimes the beanbag).  Again a very easy prop/set-up that all babies can do with very low risk associated with it.  I normally do this set-up at the start of a session if I didn't use the bowl props.  Sometimes clients may want a set-up representative of the season and the twig nest offers one such set-up.
